Have you ever felt like you’re not good enough? Or you don’t
fit in?
I’ve felt that way too, and truthfully, it sucks.
“You will soon find your purpose in life and will finally
understand the meaning of life.”
These are cliché statements that are easier to say than do.
How do know your purpose? Even if we keep on praying, God doesn’t always answer
right away.
From what I’ve experienced, loving ourselves and embracing our personal traits are the first step to express our love to God. Stop comparing yourself with other people, stop trying to be
someone else, and stop trying to please other people for all the wrong reasons.
People can always tell the difference between a genuine heart and a pretender.
It’s hard to pretend to be someone else and much worse, people can always sense
the awkwardness! It's true that some people are so good at pretending that no one will notice. But is it true happiness to lose your own identity? What determines happiness in this life? Is it being successful? Is it to have lots of money to spend? Or is it to fulfill your life's purpose? We have seen lots celebrities ended up feeling depressed even when
they're on top of their career and rich people feeling empty even when they can
afford anything they want. But
when a person understands his purpose in life, he has a vision of what he can
achieve and WILL achieve. It’s his motivation to live his life to the utmost
potential. It is God’s way of saying that we should be comfortable,
embrace His gifts for YOU, and discover your place in this world. Be active and
seek His guidance.
The moment that I let go of all others’ expectations of me,
I have become much more confident. I have started to discover my passions,
talents, and my meaning of life. And due to the same exact reason, I have also
started sending you these letters. I want to relate to you, share you these
stories, and inspire you. I know that you are a special individual in His eyes,
it would be amazing if you yourself can see how much potential you have.
“For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord. "plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11)
For years I could not separate myself from others. I did not
have a specific hobby nor talent that makes me “special”. One advice that I
could give to those of you who feel the same way is to try experience various
POSITIVE activities and find a supportive community. Experiment yourself with something positive and discover what makes you happy. For instance, don't try to smoke or get drunk just to ‘express’ yourself or as a reason to find your ‘purpose’, because God will
never put His creations to do negative things. Finding a supportive community
will not only help you discover your potentials, but can also be a way for you
to exercise those gifts and in return helping other people who need it!
I am always here as your supportive companion and I hope
through these letters, you will learn a thing or two. Keep on smiling and share
these with your friends who might need it J
