To: my Dearest Friend,
Hey, how was Christmas? Or is it that you don’t celebrate? I
can’t quiet remember, but nevertheless I hope you enjoy your holidays!
As for me, Christmas means a lot more to me this year. I did
enjoy my time off from work but on top of that I learned to take a step back
and really connect with God. When I went to Church, the message that the preacher
was sending touched my heart. As it is written in Hebrews 4:12-13
Give yourself to God as raw and honest as possible, as God
will fix any imperfections and overflow any shortage we have. Even if it’s the jolliest
time of the year, we cannot run away from the fact that we carry our own burden,
anger, jealousy, and all sorts of negativity every day! Therefore, Christmas is
a constant reminder that God has sent Jesus to this world as a symbol that He
accepts our deficiencies. Jesus will always open up his right hand as a way of
him saying “share your burden with me, and I will be your friend who
strengthens you.” This almost made me cry as I have experienced times when I
just couldn’t tell anyone how I feel and the only way out is to PRAY. Try to
lock yourself in your room, kneel down, and start praying. Treat praying just
like how you would tell stories to your friends (just like how I write these
letters to you!). Praying can be serious at times, but it can definitely be a
fun thing to do as well. Just by praying, I’ve learned a lot to reflect on
myself and truly experience HIS presence.
I hope I don’t bore you with these stories, but I feel like
it would be such a shame not to share these! You’re my friend, and I want you
to experience this too. No one is perfect in this world, but striving for a
better self seems like a good idea; and for me, having a better relationship
with God makes me a better person. That story is for next time, but for now,
try to pray and OPEN your heart. You never know how God will talk to you ;)
I love you and He loves you too

Your True Friend
