Today I’ll be showing you how to achieve the makeup look
@missdjie did on me on my Valentine’s Day Look-book photoshoot (click here to
view the full post). This look features a gradient pink/burgundy color all over
the lid with a bang of pink glitter liner to create some drama. This look is
perfect to wear on a date night or whenever you want to be a little bit
different and flirty.

Step 1: How to create a flawless and sculpted base
@missdjie’s tips: use a damp BeautyBlender to blend
everything away. By damping your BeautyBlender, it will hydrate the skin and
gives off a natural skin finish for your makeup. Always use a dabbing motion to prevent moving
the product too much around the face!
1. Prime your face: I use Etude House CC Cream #1 Silky to slightly brighten and even out my skin tone. Spread a light layer of product all over the face.

2 2. Color Correct: by using Makeover Camouflage Cream Face Concealer, tackle any blemishes and dark circles on your face by
applying green to any red areas and salmon-orange color to brighten up your
under eyes.

3 3. Blend everything together using a damp BeautyBlender with a dabbing motion to push the product on to the skin and
prevent it from moving around.
4 4. Apply Foundation: I use Makeup Forever Ultra HD Foundation in the color Sand by dotting the product all over my face then blend
everything seamlessly with the same beautyblender I used on the previous steps.

5. Contour: to achieve that sculpted look, use a
darker foundation color; here I use Nyx HD Studio Photogenic Foundation in the
color California Tan. Apply the color at the side of the nose, cheekbone, and
below the lips to create depth on the face. On the contrary, apply Makeup Forever Ultra HD Foundation in the color Pink Porcelain to highlight the high points of your
face such as the bridge of your nose, under the eyes, forehead, and chin area. Blend
the products together.
6 6. Highlight: because one layer of highlight is
never enough, use the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer and apply more product
under the eyes and nose bridge. To create a smooth gradient effect, apply
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind in the color Fair Claire below the area where we
applied the concealer as well as on the forehead and chin area. An extra glow is added by using Benefit High Beam on the highest point of the cheeks.
7 7. Blend, Blend, Blend: your damp beautyblender is
your best friend! Blend everything away until everything is seamless by using a
dabbing motion.
8 8. Set the face: to set all of your hard work, use
Air Spun Loose Face Powder to bake the under-eye area, forehead, and chin. Let
it sit for 15 minutes before brushing it off with a fluffy brush. Then to set
the rest of the face, use Mac Studio Fix Powder in number NC30.

9 9. Eyebrows on fleek:
The first step to achieve a clean eyebrow
is to lightly fill and define the shape of your eyebrows using Benefit Precisely, My Brow Pencil (I use #6). Draw light strokes and slowly build up
the shape that you want for your eyebrow.
Then to really fill in the brow, use Etude House Drawing Eyebrow (#2). Use the spools on the other end to remove any harsh
lines and create a more natural effect.

After all that, we would want to set every
strand of hair in place with Benefit Ready, Set, Brow. This product emphasizes
every strand of hair therefore creating an illusion of a naturally full
eyebrow.
Then to clean up the edges, use Nyx Concealer in a Jar and an angled brush to really crisp out the edges.
This makeup lasts throughout the entire photoshoot even when
it was super humid so I can guarantee you that this makeup will lasts you all
night!

Step 2: Eye Makeup
Prime your eyelid using Nyx Eyeshadow base in White using a
round synthetic brush or your fingers.
Take the Kylie Burgundy Palette and follow the steps below:
Tools: blending brush
Color: Beach
How to: apply the color on your crease and outer V to create
depth and act as a transition color
Color: Penny
How to: apply Penny on top of Beach to create more
definition and warmth on the eyes
Color: Burgundy
How to: on the same area, apply Burgundy to create that deep
pink/reddish shade around the eyes. Focus on making an ‘almond’ shape to really
elongate the eyes. It is important to leave the inner half of your eyes empty
since we’re going to fill it in with another color.
Tools: flat eyeshadow brush
Color: Dubai
How to: spray some Makeup Forever Mist
& Fix on the brush to wet it and apply Dubai gently on the inner half of your eyes using a patting motion. This step will help intensify the color.
Tools: Pencil brush
Color: Beach, Penny, Burgundy, and Brick
How to: combine these three colors using a pencil brush to
smoke out the lower lash line. Start at the outer half of your eyes and work
slowly into the inner half. Make sure that the darker shade such as Burgundy
and Brick should be placed on the outer half of the eyes.
Tools: shadow brush
How to: highlight the inner corner of the eyes using Anastasia Beverly Hills That Glow Kit in Sunburst.
Then, tight-line the top water line with MAC Prolong WearEye Liner in Black Ice and create a winged eyeliner using Maybelline Hyper SharpEyeliner (long time fave!).
On top of the liner that you’ve just created, apply Nyx Liquid Crystal in Pink Crystal following the eyeliner’s original shape.
Slightly winged out the color further to really create that cat-eye look.
Curl your lashes, apply mascara (Maybelline Hyper Curl Cat Eye), and
apply falsies. On this look I’m using Silver Swan lashes model 205 Mataoka.
Step 3: Final touches
Lightly contour your cheekbones and the side of the nose
with Kat Von D Shade + Light Palette. Combine Sombre and Shadowplay to create a
neutral brown color.
Apply highlighter to the highest point of your cheeks, the
top of the nose, and cupid’s bow using a combination of Prosecco Pop and
Champagne Pop from Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette. Then
add MAC’s Peaches blush to the center of the cheek blending seamlessly to the
highlight and contour shade.
Finally for the lips, let’s keep it neutral with KylieCosmetic’s Liquid Lipstick in Koko K and line the lips with Maliboo to give an
illusion of a defined and fuller lips. To top everything off, use Colorpop x Hellokitty sheer lip-gloss in Super Cute.
